On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held a ceremony to unveil the official kit for the Pakistan cricket team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s white-ball team, along with veteran players such as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan, showcased the new “Matrix Jersey”.

The PCB shared a video on its X account, previously known as Twitter. In the video, players like Saim Ayub, Naseem Shah, Babar, and others are seen participating in drills. Towards the end of the video, all players are seen sporting the new jersey, which the Green Shirts will wear in the upcoming ICC tournament.

Pakistan is part of Group A in the World Cup, alongside India, Ireland, Canada, and the United States, who are also co-hosting the event.

The Pakistan team has departed for Ireland tomorrow to participate in their T20I series against the host nation.

The team from Pakistan will compete in three T20Is in Ireland, followed by four in England. After the series in England, they will head to the United States to participate in the T20 World Cup.

The squad of 18 players, which was announced for the T20Is in Ireland and England, will be trimmed down to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 following the first T20I against England on May 22.

The initial deadline for submitting the squad was May 1, but teams are allowed to make changes until the 25th of the same month. Any changes after this date will need to be approved by the event’s technical committee.

It’s important to note that the 20 qualifying teams are split into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round. In this round, the qualifying teams will be divided again into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will then compete in the final on June 29.
