Wife of Ukraine’s President Olene Zelenka is hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus. Her condition was stable.

The presidential office confirmed the news, adding that her husband President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, and their two children tested negative for Covid-19.

The Presidential office said that his wife had tested positive last week. The president canceled all his meetings and visits.

The office said, “Olena Zelenska’s current diagnosis is COVID-19 – bilateral polysegmental pneumonia of moderate severity. (She) Does not require oxygen donation. The condition is stable,”

It also stated that Olena was quarantined and was under medical supervision.

Ukraine has 32,476 numbers of coronavirus out of which 912 people have died whereas 14,528 have recovered. There are now 17,036 active cases.

Lockdown was imposed in the country in March. But several restrictions were eased in May; restaurants, gyms, and public transport were reopened. Air flights to and from Ukraine were also resumed since June 15th.

“We all confused the mitigation of quarantine measures with the complete abolition of all restrictions that exist in the country,” health minister Maksym Stepanov told a televised briefing on Tuesday.
