“[Oman] hopes this new strategic path taken by some Arab countries will contribute to bringing about a peace based on an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and on establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as capital.”

The Intelligence Minister of Israel had said that Oman could also formalize the ties with the country. However, Oman has welcomed the decision of UAE and Bahrain but does not say anything regarding its own prospects for normalizing relations with Israel.

It should be mentioned here that Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister had visited Oman in 2018 and discussed peace initiatives in the Middle East.
