The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs Ministry of Afghanistan, Mohammad Masoud Andrabi has given ‘shoot’ order to local police, amid response to growing criminal offenses in Kabul.

According to the details, he gave this order during his visit to Police District 5 of the Afghan capital Kabul amid response to growing criminal offenses throughout the city.

The Minister called on local police to shoot at criminals and gunmen, with whom they may have faced conflict, in accordance with the law.

Mohammad Masoud Andrabi exclaimed if anyone complains about police firing at criminals, the Interior Ministry will take action, dealing with complaints.

The order came at a time, the Afghan capital is struggling with a growing number of armed robberies, roadside mine explosions, and target killings, which triggered widespread concern among residents.

During the past few months, about 800 people were arrested on similar charges, according to MoIA figures.
