Despite President Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in October, the second and final debate will continue as scheduled.

According to the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, the microphones of both candidates will be muted for some parts of the debate.

The debate will take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Trump said he would take part in the debate which will last for 90 minutes, from 21:00 until 22:30.

Previously Chris Wallace of Fox News moderated the first debate and USA Today’s Susan Page moderated the vice presidential debate. NBC’s Kristen Welker will be moderating the second debate.

Welker has been given a tough task to bring to order Thursday’s showdown debate between the two given that the first debate was chaotic.

There are six topics to be discussed: fighting COVID-19, American families, race, climate change, and national security. Welker is known for her composure and analytical thinking skills. She will have the help of the mute button.

It was a hard to watch squabble the last time when Fox News anchor, Chris Wallace was the interlocutor.

Welker feels pressure as President Trump and his entourage claim she’s left-wing. This is a proclamation they regularly impose on mainstream media personalities. Kristen Welker has been NBC’s White House correspondent since 2011.
