A building has been destroyed completely in a massive explosion in central Madrid, Spain.

According to the details, the building has collapsed and the residents of a neighbouring nursing home evacuated after a loud explosion rocked the centre of the city of Madrid.

Initial reports suggest that explosion was reportedly caused by the gas leak which may have engulfed an entire building in the heart of Madrid and at least 6 people were injured from the incident.

According to the foreign news agency ‘AFP’, pictures from Spanish television and emergency services released after the blast showed debris on the road.

The local emergency service said in a tweet that “nine firefighters and 11 ambulances have been dispatched to Calle de Toledo following the blast in the building.”
