Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi appeared in court via a video link, she was seen for the first time since detention.

Her lawyers said that she appeared to be in “good health” and asked to see her legal team.

According to the international news agency, Ms. Suu Kyi was placed under house arrest when the coup started on February 1. She now appeared in the video link at the court in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw.

International sources say that Suu Kyi originally faced two charges of illegally importing walkie-talkies and violating Myanmar’s natural disaster law. More charges were added against her on Monday, including violating coronavirus restrictions during the election campaign and for causing “fear and alarm”.

The case has been adjourned until March 15.

Moreover, ousted president Win Myint has also been charged for incitement under the penal code.

It is important to mention that protests across the country are being arranged.

Unarmed protesters were seen rushing after a volley of shots were fired during a clash. In addition to these, protesters were seen using items such as bamboo poles, sofas, and tree branches to erect barricades across the streets.
