Last week, a California ambulance driver was jailed for allegedly sexually assaulting a teen while transporting her to the hospital.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jason Anderson, 22, was on duty in the back of an American Medical Response ambulance on Friday when he “sexually attacked and sought sexual activities from the juvenile patient.”

Anderson, of Wildomar, Calif., was arrested and charged with felony sexual battery and felony sexual penetration by force of a 14 to 17-year-old victim at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center.

Anderson was released the next day after posting $75,000 bail. Officials with the sheriff’s office fear there could be more victims.

American Medical Response officials told KTLA that an internal inquiry was underway and that the event had been reported to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.

“The employee in question was placed on administrative leave during the course of our internal investigation and has not worked since the day the alleged incident took place,” American Medical Response officials said.

Anderson is expected to appear in court on June 21.
