According to a defence expert, Russia deployed hypersonic missiles to warn Ukraine and the west that it “has the means to escalate” the fight further.

According to Dr. James Bosbotinis, a defence and international affairs expert, the Ukrainian army will be unable to defend itself.

“The Kinzhal’s speed puts it beyond any Ukrainian air defence system’s reach, and the launch platforms can launch from ranges beyond Ukraine’s reach,” Bosbotinis said.
