Russia has lost its eighth general since the Ukraine incursion, the latest setback in Vladimir Putin’s disastrous campaign.

Major General Vladimir Frolov, deputy commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms regiment, was laid to rest in St Petersburg with a military ceremony.

Although the manner and location of his death are unknown, the date of his funeral implies Frolov was murdered within the last few days.

Last month, his 8th Combined Arms Army was engaged in combat in Kherson, in Crimea, when Commander Andrei Mordvichev was assassinated.

Artem Malashchenkov, a Smolensk MP, remarked of Grishin: ‘Sleep well, dear buddy; your death will not be in vain.’

The guys will carry on your work and complete all of the special military operation’s responsibilities.’

‘I have no words for how difficult it is to lose friends,’ the lawmaker stated. Ivan was a genuine colonel; throughout the brigade, he was known as “Dad.”

He was the father of two kids and was described in a memorial as ‘an honest, sensitive, and extremely strong-willed individual, a true colonel, a nice family guy – even writing about it aches, I can’t believe it’.
