Moscow: A regional governor reported that the Russian military shot down two Ukrainian drones near the border overnight.

According to Kursk area governor Roman Starovoyt on Telegram, “Today at 4:15 am, Russian air defence crews shot down two Ukrainian drones” in the Rylsky district on the Ukrainian border.

“There are no casualties, injuries or damage. The situation is completely under control. “

Major gasoline storage in Bryansk, around 200 kilometres (125 miles) north of Rylsk, was reported to be on fire earlier on Monday by Russia’s emergency situations ministry.

In the early aftermath of the incidents, there was no proof of a connection.

The Russian government has frequently accused Ukraine of launching attacks on its soil and warned that Moscow’s military will intensify its attacks on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.

During the first week of April, Belgorod’s governor said that Ukrainian helicopters had fired at a nearby fuel station.
