Turkey is still working on bringing Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky together:

On Thursday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu spoke to Turkish television station NTV,

“We know crucial matters will be decided at the level of leaders,” he added, “therefore we’ll endeavour to get leaders together.”
Turkey continues to approach the talks with “cautious hope,” according to Cavusoglu, especially after recent allegations of war crimes in Bucha and Irpin, which “negatively influenced the process.”

“The horrific photos from Bucha and Irpin, which we condemn as well, transformed the environment. On the Ukrainian side, it produced a sour mood. While the Russian Federation issued various remarks on the subject, this eventually harmed the discussion process,” he stated.

“Despite these obstacles, President Zelensky stated that discussions might continue… To say yes, though, two leaders are required. He went on to say, “Especially President Putin.”

While a ceasefire is possible, the foreign minister stated,

“if the combat continues and fresh assaults occur in Donbas, this would be more difficult to achieve.”

Following an in-person meeting between Russian and Ukrainian negotiation delegations in Istanbul in March. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told President Putin that he would want to get him together with President Zelensky.
