The number of people dead in a large-scale road accident in Rivne oblast has grown to 26. Three of them have yet to provide personal information.

The Rivne oblast police department posted about it on Facebook.

They claim that 26 persons perished, including 24 passengers and two drivers. The Mercedes minibus driver allegedly veered into the oncoming lane, colliding with a gasoline tanker, according to police.

In addition, the tanker crossed into the oncoming lane, collided with the Neoplan bus, and exploded.

The identity of the minibus driver is presently being investigated by police. It is also known that at least 12 persons, ranging in age from 17 to 69, have been hurt.

On the evening of May 3, traffic was halted due to a traffic collision on the Kyiv-Chop highway in the Rivne oblast. A gasoline truck, a minibus, and a bus collided.
