Ukraine begins acquiring Harpoon anti-ship missiles from Denmark and self-propelled howitzers from the United States, according to Oleksiy Reznikov, Ukraine’s defense minister.

The Harpoon shore-to-ship missiles would be used alongside Ukrainian Neptune missiles to defend the country’s coast, notably the southern port of Odesa, according to Mr. Reznikov.

He said the Harpoon missile exports were the product of collaboration between various countries.

The deliveries from Denmark were made “with the participation of our British allies.”

Ukraine has also received a variety of heavy artillery pieces, including modified US-made M109 self-propelled howitzers.

It will allow the Ukrainian military to strike targets from greater distances, according to the Ukrainian minister.

His Facebook message read, “The coastal defense of our country will not only be strengthened by Harpoon missiles – they will be used by trained Ukrainian teams.”
