Ukraine has received $530 million in US and British funds from a World Bank fund established up to help the Kyiv administration in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion, according to the finance ministry.

According to a late Thursday announcement from the finance ministry, the US gave roughly $500 million and the UK donated 24 million pounds ($30 million), and the money had already arrived in the state budget.

According to the statement, “These funds will be directed to providing urgent social, humanitarian and health spending, as well as supporting internally displaced people.”

On Thursday, the US Senate authorised about $40 billion in extra aid for Ukraine, while the Group of Seven advanced nations agreed to provide Ukraine with over $18 billion.
