As per Britain’s defence ministry, Ukraine’s southern city of Mariupol is at risk of a catastrophic cholera outbreak since medical services are likely already nearing collapse.

According to a tweet from the British Ministry of Defence, there is likely to be a critical shortage of pharmaceuticals in Kherson.

It went on to say that Russia is struggling to provide basic public services to the people living in Russian-occupied regions.

Dorit Nitzan, WHO’s Ukraine Incident Manager, warned last month that Mariupol, which is currently under Russian control after weeks of siege and severe bombing, was one of the seized areas where cholera was a risk.
