
The senators Hoeven, Peters, and Rosen praise the cybersecurity

Senators Hoeven, Peters, and Rosen praise the cybersecurity workforce. The adoption of legislation by U.S. Senators Gary Peters (D-MI), John Hoeven (R-ND), and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) to attract, train, and retain; qualified cybersecurity specialists in the federal workforce was recently praised.
Without a strong cyber workforce; a strong national security posture is unachievable. According to Peters, the chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; “we need highly qualified government IT personnel who can secure our networks in order to successfully resist; ongoing threats. “This new law will assist ensure that there is a pipeline of skilled and trained cybersecurity; specialists who can defend our systems and stop criminals from stealing sensitive data; and jeopardising national security,” said the author of the new law.

For cybersecurity experts working for government agencies; the measure establishes a civilian employee rotation scheme. Additionally, it allows staff members to spend time; working for several government departments, obtaining expertise outside of their primary role.
Hoeven stated that “cyberattacks against our country continue to increase in frequency and complexity; and it is crucial that we remain ahead of our adversaries and others who want to unauthorised access; and destroy important systems; particularly those managed by federal agencies.” In order to improve employment prospects for cybersecurity specialists; including those in the private sector who want to contribute their knowledge; to the federal government, we advanced this law.
