Zelensky: We have 2,606 favourable responses on the question of whether Ukraine requires advanced missile defence systems
- Ten individuals are still in hospitals as a result of the missile strike in Ternopil.
- This strike, like the vast majority of prior Russian strikes, had little tactical or strategic sense. A 12-year-old Kharkiv girl is among the victims.
- Today is the 109th day of a full-fledged conflict, but it isn’t the 109th day because we’ve told our allies one thing: Ukraine needs new missile defence systems.
The topic of whether Ukraine requires modern missile defence systems has already received 2,606 affirmative responses. Ten individuals are still in hospitals as a result of the missile strike in Ternopil. This strike, like the vast majority of prior Russian strikes, had little tactical or strategic sense. This is horror, pure and simple.
A 12-year-old Kharkiv girl is among the victims. To get away from the Russian troops, she moved to the Ternopil region. And it is these facts that will now define how Russia is perceived around the world. Children were injured and died by Russian strikes, not Peter I or Lev Tolstoy.
Today is the 109th day of a full-fledged conflict, but it isn’t the 109th day because we’ve told our allies one thing: Ukraine needs new missile defence systems. This year, last year, and even previously, similar systems were available. Have we gotten them? No. Do we require them? Yes. In the guise of numerous Russian cruise missiles that have targeted Ukrainian cities, there have already been 2,606 affirmative responses to this topic. For the period beginning February 24, our cities and villages will be closed. If Ukraine had been listened to, there are lives that could have been saved, tragedies that could have been avoided.

They appear to be attempting to deploy inadequately trained conscripts and those recruited through covert mobilisation into war. Russian generals regard their people as nothing more than cannon fodder for gaining a numerical advantage – in personnel and military weapons. And this can only mean one thing: Russia will be able to cross the line of 40,000 lost troops in June. They have never lost so much in a conflict in many decades.
I was working on a speech for the American Jewish Committee. The committee’s global conference kicked off today in New York. This is one of the most powerful institutions that aids in the promotion of judgments that are in our best interests.
I urged them to step up their efforts so that we could obtain more contemporary weapons and increased financial assistance for our country, allowing us to complete the conflict sooner.
