Abu Dhabi authorities detected over 100 fake weight loss pills, cosmetics in market
Abu Dhabi authorities have actively detected and seized dozens of unsafe and contaminated products this year, including cosmetics, stimulants, dietary supplements, and weight loss products, as part of their efforts to protect public health and safety.
The Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi has actively uncovered 116 contaminated products, discovering harmful substances such as yeast, mold, bacteria, and heavy metals. The DoH has uncovered and actively reported on the intentional addition of undeclared pharmaceutical substances to some products, putting consumers at significant risk, as detailed in the Emarat Al Youm report.
The DoH in Abu Dhabi has conducted a thorough evaluation of 3,004 products this year, actively uncovering substandard manufacturing practices, including unhygienic conditions, in addition to the presence of harmful contaminants and undeclared pharmaceutical substances in 116 products.
Abu Dhabi’s health authorities have taken a proactive step by compiling a comprehensive list of contaminated products and warning the public to avoid purchasing or using them. The DoH has actively made the list available on its official website, empowering consumers to make informed decisions and protect their health.
