- Tamworth MP said he was “truly sorry for the upset I caused” and co-operate with inquiry.
- He quit as Tory deputy chief whip on Thursday, saying he had “drunk far too much”.
Chris Pincher, who was expelled from the Conservative Party; for allegedly touching two men; has declared he needs “professional medical treatment”. The Tamworth MP issued a statement in which he expressed his “sincere regret for the distress I caused”; and pledged his full cooperation to any investigation; into his actions. He added that he “appreciated” Boris Johnson for suspending him.
On Thursday, Mr. Pincher resigned from his position as deputy chief whip; for the Tories, claiming he had “drunken way too much”; the night before.
A day later, after being complained about to Parliament’s behaviour monitor; he was removed from office as a Conservative MP.

He was reportedly “very inebriated” when he was spotted; at the Conservative Party members’ club, the Carlton Club, in London.
Pincher stated: “I drank excessively on Wednesday night; embarrassing myself and others, as I told the prime minister; and I sincerely apologise for the uproar I caused.
“I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will benefit from expert medical support; because of the tensions of the last few days; which have been added to those of the previous few months.
“I’m currently looking for that; and I want to be able to resume serving my district as soon as possible.”
