Earlier, India’s former captain and veteran opener, Rohit Sharma, has broken a record that belonged to Pakistan’s ex-captain Shahid Afridi for over a decade. Rohit is now the participant with the maximum sixes in ODI cricket history.
The 38-year-old achieved this milestone during the first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa in Ranchi. He scored a calm 57 runs, hitting 5 fours and three sixes, which helped him surpass Afridi’s record.
Shahid Afridi, who retired from ODI cricket in 2015, had hit 351 sixes in 398 matches. Rohit now has 352 sixes, taking the top spot and rewriting one of cricket’s most famous records.
