Mohammad Dawood Alokzai , who was granted permanent residency in the U.S. under the “Operation Allies Welcome” program in September 2022, was taken into custody on Tuesday. Legal proceedings are now underway against him.

This arrest comes in the wake of another recent security incident near the White House, where Afghan national Rahmanullah Laknawal, who arrived in the U.S. in 2021, was apprehended for firing at National Guard personnel. Both incidents underscore growing concerns over threats from individuals leveraging social media to target U.S. cities.
