COVID-19 supplies by Australia including 3000 ventilators and 250 oxygen concentrators, have already reached 19 of India’s 36 states and union territories. These are part of our $37.1 million support package for India. The Indian Red Cross Society and local governments are distributing COVID-19 supplies by Australia to people in need in collaboration with the Indian government and the Indian Red Cross Society.

The C-17A Globemaster will deliver an eight-tonne oxygen tank the size of a shipping container that was purchased by Indian company Tata Steel for the purpose of storing and transporting medical oxygen in bulk.

Frontline workers will benefit from PPE donated by the Western Australian government and transported to Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The Morrison government has already contributed $7 million to Nepal’s emergency relief, with assistance coming from trusted on-the-ground partners.

The Australian government appreciates the Sri Lankan government’s close cooperation in allowing Mattala airport to serve as a hub for the transport and distribution of COVID-19 assistance supplies to other countries.
