Kash Patel the director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), hosted Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the bureau’s headquarters, praising Pakistan’s role in supporting U.S. interests in the region.
Patel shared details of the meeting in a post on X, calling it an honor and expressing appreciation for Pakistan’s support in protecting U.S. interests. He said the two officials focused their discussion on providing resources and specialized training to fight counterterrorism financing and cyber crime, both within Pakistan and abroad.

Patel described the U.S.-Pakistan partnership as critical and said he expects continued progress in bilateral cooperation going forward. Naqvi arrived in Washington last week after representing Pakistan at the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit 2026, an event focused on strengthening cooperation among police forces from UN member states.
The meeting comes as Pakistan and the United States work to deepen their security relationship, with a focus on counterterrorism, intelligence sharing, and combating financial crimes.
Pakistan designated a major non-NATO ally of the United States, has seen its relationship with Washington strengthen since President Donald Trump returned to office. Islamabad has also taken on a mediating role in efforts to help resolve the recent conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
