ISLAMABAD: Pakistan medical sector step into the major upgrade innovation for the family planning and reproductive system procedure into the new digital technology method to enhance reporting, transparency and service delivery. The government has introduced an Electronic Client Record (ECR) system to modernize population welfare programs and strengthen monitoring across the sector.
Officials reported that 213 service providers have already installed and trained on this new system. These providers now work on the submitting real time data of the client alongside by compiling the older data as well by substitute the older method of filing the client reports.
The initiative is designed to improve data accuracy and make monitoring more effective. It will also help authorities track performance and identify gaps in services more quickly.
The shift to digital records marks a major change in how family planning programs are managed. Under the new system, officials will be able to view service delivery data in real time and respond faster to emerging issues.
To address these issues, ongoing training, refresher courses and technical support are being provided. Officials said stronger data systems are needed for better, evidence based policymaking in population and reproductive health.
Alongside digital reforms, the government is also working on new legislation to strengthen the reproductive health framework. A Reproductive Health Bill has been approved by a provincial cabinet and is now awaiting presentation in the provincial assembly.
The proposed law aims to protect patient rights, including privacy, confidentiality, informed choice and access to quality services. Once approved, it is expected to improve both service standards and legal protection in the sector.
