K-Electric, the country’s major power utility, has announced a significant leadership change as its foreign Chairman Mark Gerard Skelton has resigned from his position. The company informed both domestic and international shareholders of the development through an official disclosure.
Following Skelton’s departure, Shaheryar Chishty has been appointed as a Director with immediate effect to fill the vacancy on the board.
The appointment was approved by K‑Electric’s Board of Directors and communicated to the Pakistan Stock Exchange as required under regulatory guidelines.
According to the company secretary, this strategic shift in leadership comes at an important time for the organization, with Chishty’s inclusion in the board expected to play a key role in shaping future governance and strategic decisions.
The company’s formal notice emphasized that the board’s decision reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and ensure continuity in operational and strategic oversight.
Media reports recalled that on August 13, 2022, K-Electric had appointed Mark Gerard Skelton as chairman of its board of directors, replacing Shan A Ashary.
The appointment followed the reconstitution of the company’s board after an extraordinary general meeting held on July 29, 2022 in accordance with statutory requirements.
