Karachi CBC announced 10% property tax discount for early payers

CBC has advised residents to complete payments on time to avoid penalties

Karachi Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has announced a 10% discount on property tax for the financial year 2025–2026.

The offer is available for residents who clear their full property tax dues before June 30, 2026, the step aims to encourage early payments and improve tax collection.

Under the leadership of CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, CBC is actively working to provide modern civic facilities to the residents of Clifton Cantonment.

According to the official announcement, taxpayers can benefit from this limited time relief by paying on or before the deadline. The board has also made the payment process easier through both online and in person options.

Citizens can pay through the “CBCARE” mobile app or the military lands & cantonments bill payment portal using the PSID code mentioned on their tax challan.

For those who prefer physical payment, services are available at the CBC office, taxpayer facilitation centers, and selected bank branches. To handle increased public demand, CBC has extended its working hours from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Bank branches under its system are also open on weekends from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Property tax is an important source of revenue for cantonment boards in Pakistan. It helps fund basic municipal services such as road maintenance, sanitation, street lighting, and development projects in residential and commercial areas. Regular tax collection also supports better urban management and local infrastructure improvements.

Officials say early payment discounts are often introduced to reduce delays in revenue collection and ease the financial burden on administrative systems. Such incentives also encourage citizens to stay compliant and help improve cash flow for local development work.

The CBC has advised residents to complete payments on time to avoid penalties of 12% next year and take full advantage of the discount facility.
