SCOTLAND: Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, has graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in English.
The milestone came during Royal Week in Scotland, when King Charles III and Queen Camilla were also visiting the country for official events. The 22 year old attended the graduation ceremony wearing a traditional academic gown. She smiled as she walked across the stage to receive her degree, marking an important achievement in her academic journey.

No senior members of the royal family were seen attending the ceremony. The University of St Andrews is well known for its ties to the British royal family. Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales both studied at the university, where they first met.

According to former university Principal and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Brian Lang, the university worked with the media during Prince William’s time as a student. The arrangement allowed him to enjoy university life with greater privacy and have a more normal student experience. Lady Louise’s graduation adds another chapter to the university’s long standing connection with the royal family.
The annual visit includes a series of official ceremonies and public appearances that celebrate Scotland’s traditions and strengthen the monarchy’s relationship with the country. Lady Louise has largely stayed out of the public spotlight compared with other members of the royal family. Her graduation marks a personal achievement and highlights her focus on education before taking on any future public responsibilities.
The University of St Andrews is one of the United Kingdom oldest and most respected universities. Lady Louise’s graduation reflects another academic milestone for a member of the British royal family.
