Pakistan’s leading actress Mahira Khan revealed during the promotion of her latest film how even her most casual remarks on social media are often twisted and misinterpreted.
Recalling an incident, Mahira shared that once, she casually mentioned, “My grandmother used to say, don’t wear sleeveless clothes.” However, now every time she posts a sleeveless picture, people comment, “Have you forgotten what your grandmother said?”
The actress clarified that her words were neither intended to offend anyone nor to make any statement, but certain circles on social media have used it as an opportunity to criticize her.
Mahira admitted that she now speaks much more carefully.
She went on to say, “These days, I avoid certain questions, and when I do speak, I choose my words very carefully because I know how easily even a small comment can be misinterpreted.”
Mahira Khan also mentioned that she has become more cautious about discussing personal matters and topics related to her family, to prevent her words from being taken out of context.
