Mohsin Naqvi meets Iran FM Abbas Araghchi in Tehran

Baghaei warned that if US does not follow its commitments, Iran may also take necessary steps in response

TEHRAN: Iran Foreign Ministry in Tehran welcomed Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during his official visit. On arrival at the Foreign Ministry, he was received by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who formally greeted him.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi and Abbas Araghchi discussed Pakistan, Iran relations and the regional situation after recent agreements.

Both sides exchanged views on cooperation, security, and stability in the region. The talks focused on improving diplomatic ties and working together on shared concerns.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Tehran, Mohsin Naqvi was also welcomed by Iran Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. Both ministers held a separate meeting where they spoke about regional peace and ongoing developments.

They described the recent US, Iran understanding as a positive step toward long term stability in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that an Iranian delegation will soon travel to Switzerland for further negotiations. He added that the delegation will press for implementation of commitments made by the other side.

He also said that Iran remains committed to its own promises but expects others to do the same. According to him, it is important to ensure that agreements are properly followed and not ignored after signing.

Baghaei further stressed that pressure should be applied to stop attacks in the region, especially in Lebanon. He warned that if the United States does not follow through on its commitments, Iran may also take necessary steps in response.
