ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister and Minister for Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Riyadh on an official visit to Saudi Arabia Wednesday to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
He was warmly received at King Khalid International Airport by Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, reflecting the close and long standing ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The visit comes as both sides look to expand cooperation in key areas, including internal security, counter terrorism, and law enforcement. Officials are also expected to discuss joint efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and improve institutional coordination between the two interior ministries.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a strong and historic partnership built over decades, with regular high level exchanges across political, economic, security, and defence sectors. The relationship is widely viewed as stable and strategic, with both countries continuing to support each other on major regional and international issues.
Naqvi visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation and strengthen coordination between the two brotherly nations, with an emphasis on security collaboration and long term institutional ties.
Furthermore, in past weeks British Deputy Foreign Minister Hamish Falconer met Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad to discussed Pakistan-UK relations, the regional situation, and ways to improve cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in several areas. These include counter terrorism, stopping illegal migration, improving institutional links, police training, and tackling fake student visas. They also discussed joint efforts to deal with human trafficking and strengthen security systems.
