TEHRAN: Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly elected Supreme Leader of Iran, has delivered his first message after assuming the leadership.

In an audio address, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei vowed that the blood of martyrs would be avenged and declared that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed to increase pressure on adversaries.

He said his new position carries significant responsibilities and emphasized that the Iranian people have shown the world they are a great nation. “Without the support of the people, my position holds no value,” he added.

The Iranian Supreme Leader stated that enemies are targeting the Iranian nation and stressed that the country must defeat its adversaries. He reiterated that Iran would not relinquish its right to avenge the blood of martyrs and that national unity among Iranians would remain strong.

Khamenei also warned that attacks would continue if American military bases in the region were not closed, adding that Iran was only targeting military installations. He maintained that such actions were unavoidable and would continue.

He further said the Iranian people, through unity, would defeat their enemies and vowed that the country would not rest until the martyrs — particularly those from the Minab School incident — were avenged.

The Iranian leader also stated that Iran believes in maintaining friendly relations with neighboring countries but insisted that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz was necessary to exert pressure on enemies.

He reiterated that unless US bases in the Middle East were shut down, attacks would continue and Iran would avenge the blood of every martyr.
