ISLAMABAD: A suicide bombing near the courthouse in Islamabad’s G-11 sector has claimed the lives of at least twelve people and left several others injured, authorities confirmed.
The explosion ignited a fire in the parking area, engulfing nearby vehicles. Initial reports indicate that the blast, resulting in the death of 12 person and injuries to several others, including lawyers and civilians.
Police said the courthouse area was busy at the time. The injured were immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS) Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that investigations have been launched, with initial findings suggesting it was a suicide blast.
