Pakistan has condemned recent Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.
The remarks came during an emergency United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on the situation in Yemen. Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, said Islamabad remains committed to Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity under the UN Charter and international law.
Jadoon called on all sides to settle their disputes through dialogue and de-escalation, noting that the wider Middle East remains under significant strain from overlapping crises.

Jadoon said any lasting peace in Yemen must come through a political process led and owned by Yemenis themselves, facilitated by the UN and responsive to the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
He pointed to an earlier prisoner exchange agreement this year as proof that dialogue can produce real results, even under difficult conditions. He urged all parties to use that progress as a foundation for a lasting nationwide ceasefire and a broader political settlement.
Pakistan also criticized the ongoing detention of United Nations, humanitarian, and diplomatic staff, along with the seizure of UN facilities and property by the Houthis. Jadoon called these actions violations of international law that obstruct humanitarian work.
He demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all detained personnel and called for full respect of the immunities granted to UN staff and property.
