T20 World Cup: England defeat Pakistan in Super Eight match

England successfully chased the target in 19.1 overs.

In the Super 8 stage match of the T20 World Cup in Pallekele, England defeated Pakistan by two wickets in a thrilling contest.

Pakistan and England faced off in the crucial match where Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Batting in their allotted 20 overs, Pakistan scored 165 runs for the loss of nine wickets, setting a target of 166 runs.

England successfully chased the target in 19.1 overs. Harry Brook played a brilliant innings, scoring a century and playing a key role in his team’s victory. Will Jacks contributed 28 runs, while Sam Curran added 16 runs.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took four wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq claimed two wickets each, but their efforts were not enough to stop England from sealing the win.
