Park Geon Roung, the little boy who became famous around the world through the viral “Baby Shark” video is now ready for a new stage, at 17, he is set to make his official K-pop debut as Baby Shark Boy on Aug. 20 with his first digital single, “WAVE,” featuring MONSTA X’s Joohoney.

Geon Roung first became known as a child model after appearing in Pinkfong’s popular “Baby Shark Dance” video in 2016. The catchy children’s song quickly became a worldwide sensation, turning its young stars into familiar faces for millions of viewers.

Now, almost a decade later, Geon Roung is returning to the spotlight with a completely different image, a 16 second trailer for his upcoming debut was released, giving fans their first glimpse of the teenager’s new musical journey. The short preview has already attracted attention from people who remember him from the viral childhood hit.
