ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his parliamentary aides have extended their London visit for a day to complete consultation with the party leader Nawaz Sharif on different political issues.

The parliamentary delegation held a meeting with the former prime minister yesterday for nearly three hours. Sources privy to the development maintain that despite hours long consultations, there remained a number of unsettled issues that required a consensus among the participants of the meeting.

The unsettled matters will be discussed in a meeting scheduled this afternoon.

Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif on Thursday will make important announcements regarding forthcoming general elections, provision of relief to the masses including subsidies in POL products’ prices and power tariff.

Nawaz will address a conference in London and tell about important decisions instead of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The flight of top government officials abroad sparked outrage on the social media, particularly among the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The critics maintained that the premier had flown to London to seek advice from a convicted criminal.

Nawaz Sharif is staying in London since October 2019 on the pretext of medical grounds after he got eight-week bail from Lahore High Court (LHC). In September 2020, Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared him a ‘proclaimed offender’.
