KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hail for Karachi starting today and will continue till April 04.
The alert, covering Karachi and the wider Sindh province, states that a western wind system is expected to enter southwestern Balochistan today. Consequently, from today until April 4, rainfall is expected in Karachi, Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, and Qambar-Shahdadkot.
Other areas likely to experience rain include Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Matiari, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, and nearby regions.
The Meteorological Department predicts light showers and drizzle in Karachi today, with thunderstorms and heavier rain expected on Thursday. Some areas may see moderate to heavy rain, along with hail.
Strong winds, lightning, and hail pose risks to power poles, solar panels, billboards, and standing crops. Residents are advised to take precautions to minimize potential damage.
