In 1982, Princess Diana gave birth to the future king at St Mary’s Hospital. Following the birth of his son, Charles expressed his love for him in a letter to his second cousin, The Countess Mountbatten of Burma.
“The arrival of our small baby has been an astounding experience and one that has meant more to me than I ever could have anticipated,” Charles reportedly wrote. I’m so glad I was by Diana’s bedside the entire time because I felt like I was a part of the birthing process.
