The race champ of a half marathon race was left out because of running an unacceptable race.
Omar Ahmed had initially joined to run the Bristol 10k during the Great Bristol Run on Sunday (19.09.21) yet wound up by accident in running and winning the half marathon race that was requiring some investment.
Ahmed went the incorrect way when he arrived at where the course turned to the different races.
According to the Great Run Company Ahmed had entered the 10k as a tip-top sprinter and not the half marathon race implying that he must be excluded.
As per the chief executive of The Great Run Company, Paul Foster, “Rules are rules and in this case, they say we have to disqualify Omar.”
He added, “We salute his performance, and he has been invited to take part in next week’s Great Manchester Run as an elite athlete.”
“Of course, we also look forward to welcoming him back to Bristol for 2022’s Great Bristol Run.”
