Los Angeles: Selena Gomez fans were buzzing after showing support for husband Benny Blanco, as the music producer took on a bizarre five-day pizza challenge to test his theory by eating one large thin-crust pizza every day, hoping to prove that he could still lose weight while “eating literally anything.”

Blanco, 38, documented the unusual experiment on TikTok, turning his daily Domino’s meals into a public test of his claim that weight loss could happen without giving up favorite foods. The challenge quickly became a struggle, however, as the producer admitted on the third day, “I hate my life.”

By the fifth day, Blanco appeared even more overwhelmed by his pizza-only routine. “I don’t even remember myself as a human being. Like, what was life before pizza?” he said.

Despite the frustration, the experiment produced the result Blanco was hoping to see. Before starting the challenge, Blanco stepped on the scale and weighed 152.2 pounds. After five days of eating pizza, his weight had dropped to 147.5 pounds, a difference of 4.7 pounds.

“I just lost 4.7 pounds eating pizza. Nothing matters, do whatever you want,” Blanco declared.

Gomez made an appearance during the experiment while the couple enjoyed a date night at the Los Angeles Sunset Tower Hotel. While the pop star ate food from the restaurant, Blanco stayed committed to his unusual challenge and brought his pizza along for the evening.

The experiment also reflects Blanco’s well-known passion for food. The music producer released his cookbook, Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friends, in 2024, further highlighting his interest in cooking and dining.

While Blanco’s pizza experiment may have delivered a surprising number on the scale, his five-day challenge also gave fans plenty to talk about online including his growing pizza fatigue.
