RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was arrested from his residence in the wee hours of Thursday, reported BOL News.
The arrest has been done for leveling allegations against PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari that he has been plotting the assassination of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Sheikh Rashid’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq confirmed the arrest and said that the police broke the doors of the residence and beat up the employees during the arrest.
A case has been registered against Rashid in Aabpara Police Station under three sections — 120B (criminal conspiracy), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief).
