The world’s first electric racing aircraft has been unveiled at the on-going Dubai Air Show.

Gulf media reported that the battery-powered aircraft, named White Lightning, is billed as the world’s first.

The European aerospace giant Airbus is trailblazing the way for electric vehicles to take flight, with the Airbus Air Race E series.

The European planemaker has backed the e-racing tournament, with the inaugural race set in late 2020, in which the White Lightning team is competing. Airbus’ support for the e-race boosts its green aerospace tech credentials.

Dubai air show was opened on Sunday, where combat and training aircraft dazzled the audience with their combating skills and maneuvering, including some mind-bending maneuvers and a slow speed pass.
