Islamabad administration has decided to impose Section 144 in Islamabad on Saturday, as fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in the country.

Section 144 has been imposed in the province as shopping malls and restaurants have been ordered to close by 10:00pm in the city. However, milk shops, meat shops as well as tandoors and grocery stores have been exempted.

“However, this restriction will not apply to Pharmacies, Dispensaries, Clinics, Grocery Stores, Karyana Stores, Bakaries, Atta Chakkies, Tandoors, Milk Shops, Auto workshop, Petrol pumps, Chicken and meat shops, Mandis and Restaurant/food outlets for delivery and takeaways,” read the notification.

As per the notification, the section has been imposed with immediate effect for 15 days.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan surge to 730 after new cases have been reported on Saturday from many parts of the country.

Sindh government has also indicated that it will impose complete lockdown in the province. Sindh is the most affected with the pandemic as total reported cases rose to of 396.  89 new patients who have tested positive with the virus in Sukkur, the provincial health department said.

185 countries have been affected worldwide, more than 11,000 people have died and more than 270,00 infected by the disease as it spreads rapidly to new territories.
