Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to open construction sector to help laborer class who are struggling hard to survive during coronavirus lockdown.

While addressing a joint press conference after the National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting, the Prime Minister said that construction sector has the lowest risk in terms of COVID-19 spread.

He further stated that federal and provincial governments have consensus regarding opening the construction sector during lockdown for providing employment to daily wagers and laborers.

PM Imran also announced to extend the lockdown across the country for another two weeks.

He reiterated that all public places including educational institutions will remain closed during the lockdown.

The premier also urged citizens to follow all the safety measures provided by the government to protect themselves from coronavirus.

The Prime Minister further stated that the government are ensuring all possible measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
