Pakistan has announced to export chloroquine tablets which are believed to be an effective treatment against coronavirus to friendly nations.
During a media briefing Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said that one million chloroquine tablets will be sent to Kingdom Saudi Arabia and United States each, 500,000 to Turkey and Italy each, 5 million to the United Kingdom, 700,000 to Kazakhstan and 300,000 to Qatar.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hydroxychloroquine is widely used to treat malaria and other conditions such as arthritis and lupus. FDA had not approved it for the treatment of COVID-19. But it has permitted its trials. The limited emergency authorization has been provided for its use.
