US President Donald Trump announced to grant preferential treatment for Hong Kong in trade and travel.

Donald Trump announced the decision in response to the security law enforced by China. He has declared China’s decision as a “tragedy”.

He said that he no longer declared Hong Kong to be separate from China.

He spoke to media in the White House. He said, “China has replaced One Country, Two Systems with One Country, One System”,

“This is a tragedy for Hong Kong… China has smothered Hong Kong’s freedom,”

On the other hand, China has urged the west not to interfere in the security matter.

He also said that Chinese and Hong Kong officials should face sanctions as they believed to be involved in affecting the territory’s autonomy.

In addition to this, Donald Trump also said that he was “terminating” the US collaboration with the World Health Organization over coronavirus.
