Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem has said that India wants Pakistan to disobey International Court of Justice’s decision, so they urge Security Council to pass resolution against Islamabad.

According to the details, after taking oath as the federal law minister, Farogh Naseem during his speech in National Assembly presented about the ordinance related to arrested Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Farogh Naseem in his speech, said on May 8, 2017, India filed a case in the ICJ. Pakistan could not come out of the ICJ jurisdiction. The ICJ decided that consular access should have been granted.

“This ordinance has been brought in the light of the decision of the International Court of Justice. India wants us not to accept the decision of the ICJ and they should go to the Security Council and pass a resolution against us.”

He said that we have to respect the decisions of ICJ in every possible way. Farogh Naseeem while urging opposition not to do politics over the matter, said that Kulbhushan Jadhav is not pardoned.

Pakistan then enacted the International Court of Justice (Review and Reconsideration) Ordinance, 2020 in light of this verdict. It is not an NRO, clarified Naseem.

If Pakistan does not provide consular services, India will raise hue and cry in the international community, he said, adding that it will go to the UN Security Council and back to the ICJ.

By bringing in this ordinance Pakistan has cut off India’s hands, he said. Pakistan cannot exit the ICJ, he told his fellow parliamentarians.

India must have prepared to go to the ICJ again if Pakistan doesn’t adhere to the ICJ verdict, he said.
