KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly member Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has claimed that K Electric’s license is about to be suspended.

In his tweet on the social networking website, Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain said that K Electric is not an institution of angels descending from the sky.

He said that the people of Karachi were troubled by K Electric, industry, trade and commerce were destroyed and the lives of the citizens became indigestible.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain said in his tweet that on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a meeting was held in Islamabad with key figures of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

It may be recalled that Aamir Liaquat Hussain while announcing his resignation from the Assembly seat on the issue of unannounced load shedding and additional billing of Electric, had said that he would meet the Prime Minister and submit his resignation as the people of Karachi Can’t see in pain.

Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan summoned the National Assembly member to Islamabad and assured him that all his reservations would be removed, after which Amir Liaquat announced his resignation.

It may be recalled that the people of Karachi are fed up with K-Electric due to unannounced and additional load shedding. According to them, the worst load shedding is being carried out on a daily basis in different parts of Karachi. do not have.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of Electric once again claimed that no unannounced load shedding is taking place anywhere in the city, it is wrong to compare the local fault with the load shedding The schedule is uploaded to the website on a daily basis.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has also issued a show-cause notice to K Electric on the issue of overbilling and load shedding.

The show-cause notice has been issued in the light of the report of the inquiry committee and a reply has been sought from K Electric within 15 days.

NEPRA says unilateral action will be taken against K-Electric for non-submission of reply and it will be considered that K-Electric has nothing to say in its defence and why not take action against K-Electric for load shedding.

The showcase notice states that NEPRA has the power to suspend or revoke the license of an electrician, imposing fines and additional penalties.
