The internet is clearly obsessed with cats and Pokémon, and though yellow cats may not exist naturally, a Thai native has given the World Wide Web a bright yellow cat that has very rapidly become viral.

The concerned pet owner, Thammapa Supamas was worried about a fungal infection that she had noticed growing on her cat. She immediately treated the cat with a turmeric scrub. Tumeric is said to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties however turmeric also leaves an everlasting stain.

The white-furred feline adopted a bright yellow color after the turmeric scrub and became an overnight social media sensation due to its unique new color.

To add to the hype various internet trolls took up the task of making this cat even more popular with various memes being produced about the color of the cat and its resemblance to the famous Pokémon Pikachu.

The cat’s owner also took upon this opportunity to produce images of the cat resembling the beloved pocket monster.
